Estonian Food Industry Association celebrated the Dairy Day

Last week the Estonian Food Industry Association hosted a Dairy Day at Balti Jaam Market, where dairy experts from different sectors discussed on how milk quality is guaranteed in farms, industries as well as with science research.

The event was organized by PR Strategies and took place within the Estonian Food Industry Association dairy campaign, which was held for the third time already. The event included experts such as Margus Muld, CEO of Väätsa Agro, Elle Must, agricultural adviser at Valio Eesti and Ivi Jõudu, Docent and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences of the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

The event naturally also celebrated the great taste of dairy products within a menu created by Lauri Ivask, the Chef at Humalakoda restaurant. Barmen from the Butterfly Lounge prepared delicious coctails from natural dairy products right in front of the guests, who could also witness a surprise performance by five-time Estonian champion, show barman Georgi Voomets preparing a tasty milk coctail called „The Estonian Summer“.

To celebrate the Dairy Day, the mascot of the campaign - a colorful cow sculpture also settled in in front of the Balti Jaam Market. The cow sculpture was first introduced during last year’s campaign and its authors are artist Ülle Ottokar and sculptor Lauri Tamm from Tartu Art College.

For this year’s campaign, a design contest was announced to repaint the sculpture and the winner as well as author of the sculpure’s new design is 8-year-old Renata Kallasmaa from Põltsamaa.
